Since 1972, Open Door has been a non-profit service organization whose goal is to assist families and individuals in need within the WaNee community. There is NO PAID staff! There's just a group of volunteers who believe that service to others is their reward. Open Door was organized as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization to provide assistance in the form of food, clothing, utility payment, rent assistance, hotel/motel and other emergency expenses for the needy individuals and families located in the WaNee area. Housed in the old B & O Railroad Depot, located just north of the railroad tracks.
